Panasonic DP-2330 LCD Touch screen Calibration

In this post, I am putting some steps those I performed as part of my volunteer work and would like to put here for the benefit of the community. Specially for those people who are giving back and putting their precious time to help non-profit organization. It is all about what you can give.

So- I ran in to the issue that on a Panasonic Workio printer DP-2330  whose LCD touch screen was not accepting the touch at the indicated locations but a little down. After some research, I found that it needs calibration - so I went.

Steps:

1- Shutdown the printer from the bottom power on and off switch (There are 2 power switches on this Printer - one at the bottom where the power cable joins the printer and one on top side from the  inside output tray). Please do not power down the printer from top button - as it does not shutdown the printer completely and only turns off the functions - like LCD and printing capabilities - the power is still coming to motherboard etc.

2- From the service manual - it is advised that you need  to take the F-ROM cards  off before proceeding to step 3. The F-ROM cards will be available if someone did the Firmware updates and have the additional ROM besides the one that is on the motherboard. This can be found on the board that is on the back side of the printer. You have to open the box that has ethernet and phone line connected.

Please do not get confused with the YELLOW cards those are Keys for Phone and network  - I believe.

In my case, I could not find it - so I open the back and closed it as it was before and proceeded to step 3:

3- Now press the Function button + Energy save Button  together with two fingers of one hand and use other hand to power on the printer from bottom switch.

4- When printer boots it will display the + mark on the left side of the scree (Please do not let go the buttons pressed - keep them pressed).  Please do not use your finger to touch the + sign  - as you are calibrating. I used a touch pen  (You can get some touch screen pens  online  or from stores). I got mine from OOW-2011 from Cisco people. OOW = Oracle Open World.

Now press the top left with this pen and then it will display right bottom - touch it then it will display center - touch it . Now it is time to let go the pressed buttons from step 3.

5- Once the printer  completed the start from step4. Recycle the printer again by switching off and then on from the bottom power button.

Now use the touch -- Voila !! works !!
